Is there anything one could use to replace the almond flour in this recipe?
ReplyDeleteIt will probably change the texture a bit since almond flour doesn't absorb as much liquid, but you can use additional whole wheat or oat flour - I would try only using 2 tablespoons of flour of choice in place of the 1/4 cup almond meal. Hope this helps :)
DeletePerfect, thanks for the reply. I'm definitely going to try this! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat cake ! It looks really avesome ! Maybe someday I will bake it ... I'm not baking very often, but your cake is encouraging ...
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I hope you do one day!
DeleteThe recipe calls for 1 whole egg, but the method has egg whites listed. What should be used?
ReplyDeleteOh good catch! It is one whole egg. I will fix that in the "method" section now. Thank you for pointing that out :)
DeleteThis looks absolutely delicious, I am definitely trying this! But are you supposed to eat it warm or let it set in the fridge?
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's actually delicious either way but I liked it warm :)
DeleteMade this tonight. I used oat bran instead of oat flour and was worried about the outcome. But it is super delicious! Nice texture! So glad I doubled the recipe and have one for the freezer. Thanks for sharing this winner!!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear that replacement worked! I may have to try that next time - I love to bake with oat bran. And you're very welcome. So glad it was enjoyed (& doubled) :)
DeleteHi Nicolette, do you have any suggestions to replace the wheat or oat flour that would be gluten free?
ReplyDeleteThank you
I actually use a gluten-free oat flour. If you can't find that, I recommend using almond meal flour and coconut flour at a 1:1 ratio to replace the oat flour cup for cup. Does this make sense??
DeleteDon't you use any baking powder or baking soda?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Hi Nicolette, how many grams is 1 scoop of vanilla protein?

Has anyone tried using Honey or Coconut sugar for the sweetener in this product?
ReplyDeleteCan I replace the cream cheese with Greek yogurt?
ReplyDeleteWhat are the measurements for the mini loaf pan? Can I use honey or coconut sugar instead? If yes, how much?
ReplyDeleteit's about a 5 inch x 2 inch. Yes, you can use coconut sugar. I would go with 1/4 cup.
DeleteWhole wheat will surely taste appetizing by adding fresh berries or mashed bananas. Make a nice loaf or muffins with these ingredients. bread machine recipes
ReplyDeleteI wonder what would happen if I made it without the cream cheese. I can't have dairy right now so I'm having a hard time finding a sub for that. I wanna try it anyway though!
ReplyDeletei don't want to use artificial sweeteners. is there a natural, healthy sweetener that you can recommend? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteStevia is a natural sweetner you can use.
